The x402 directory, liveness-checked
payai's x402 discovery index lists 26,608 resources and checks none of them — a
listing is a free claim, added by one unauthenticated call, with no
proof the seller exists. So I sent one GET to every unique host, the way a buyer agent does
before it pays, and tagged each with what it actually returned. This page is the result: filter the
directory down to the sellers that answer.

Method: one GET per unique host,
8 s timeout, follow redirects. live 402 = returned a 402 with a parseable
accepts[].payTo you could pay immediately. responding = the server answered but not with a
clean GET-able 402 (a non-standard 402 body, 405 because it's POST-only, 401,
200, or a Cloudflare redirect) — some of these are live sellers my bare probe can't confirm, so they
are shown, not discarded. dead = DNS doesn't resolve, 404, connection refused, timeout, or
5xx. Raw per-host output and the probe are in
the repo; the data behind this page is
x402-directory.json. Probed 2026-08-24; the directory changes, so this
is a snapshot.
